Information for housing companies

As there are no registers containing stock data on buildings and dwellings for all of Germany, a census of buildings and housing has to be conducted for all residential buildings as part of the Census 2011.
All those who own housing space are obliged to provide information for the census of buildings and housing. That makes the housing companies important partners of official statistics. They will contribute decisively to the success of the Census 2011 and a high quality of results.

Simplified data transfer for housing companies
To keep the burden imposed on housing companies as low as possible, the statistical offices of the Federation and the Länder offer special ways of electronic data transmission. As a consequence, there will be no need to fill in paper questionnaires.
Data may be transmitted using the pc program CORE.reporter. Companies will receive the program free of charge from the official statistics agencies. That IT procedure enables the transfer of data available in electronic form via a secure Internet connection to the statistical offices.
